Our President & CEO
Steven is the dynamic force behind Optmel’s success.
His passion for optical instruments was ignited during his time at Tsinghua University, where he majored in Optical Instruments. Fueling his pursuit of knowledge, he went on to achieve a master’s degree in Optical Engineering from the prestigious Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Science (SIOM) in 1993. Steven’s exceptional educational background in the optical and mechanical field brings unparalleled value to Optmel.
In 1998, Steven embarked on a new chapter by venturing to the city of Vancouver, Canada. It was there that he found his professional home at Creo/Kodak. Joining the company in 1999. From his early days as a Production Engineer to leading teams as a Production Manager and a Commodity Manager, Steven’s unwavering commitment and extensive experience fortified his expertise in management and process control. It is this wealth of knowledge that resonates deeply with our esteemed customers.
While spearheading initiatives at Creo/Kodak, Steven’s thirst for personal growth led him to complete a significant portion of the MBA curriculum and attain the coveted Kodak 6 SIGMA green belt. These exceptional accomplishments became the bedrock of Optmel’s global vision and world-class management skills.

Optmel’s factory and headquarters are located in the city of Rugao in the province of Jiangsu, China.
This is where our team of 50 employees, 14 of which are engineers, take ideas and turn them into products that will exceed your expectations.
North American Service & Sales Team
One thing that sets Optmel apart is its North American service team.
Our CEO and our Vice President & Sales Director, Klara Johanna, are both located in Vancouver, BC. This allows us to provide superior service in English and US timezones.
